How to get to Kraków?

By air

All flights to Krakow, land at The John Paul II International and Domestic Airport Kraków-Balice ( The airport is located at the outskirts of the city, but can be easily reached by taxi - 80 PLN (about 17 EUR), car (rentals are available at the airport) or local transportation: bus No 292 (every 20 min). Travelling time is approximately 20 min. Please purchase regular public transportation tickets 4 PLN/person in a kiosk at the airport or in ticket machine (coins only) at a bus. By train

The city can be easily and comfortably accessed by train from all larger cities in Poland and Europe. For more information see the website:

By car

Several bus companies run regular international services to Kraków and many other cities in Poland. Kraków has a direct access to the highway A4 and international motorways S7. Roads in Poland are marked with international traffic signs, and traffic regulations are similar to those in operation in other European countries.


The official Polish unit of currency is Zloty (PLN). The exchange rate for euro is approximately 1€ ~ 4.20 PLN . Major convertible foreign currencies may be changed into Polish zlotys at banks, hotels and at private currency-exchange offices (KANTORs). In general, traveller's checks can be cashed and all major credit cards are accepted. There are many ATM machines located in vicinity of banks. They accept VISA and Master cards.

Poland like other states of The Schengen Area have a signed visa waiver agreement with most of the countries which allows to stay up to 90 days.
